At Clifton Cathedral, Confirmation is celebrated annually, and young people are invited to participate fully in their own preparation for this special Sacrament. The Sacrament is normally conferred by the Bishop, who lays hands on the candidate and anoints them with the Sacred Chrism using the words 'Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.'

If you are in Year 9 or above, and have been baptised but not yet confirmed, then think about joining our programme starting in March 2019, leading to Confirmation by Bishop Declan at the 6pm Mass on the Solemnity of Pentecost. Led by a small team of catechists, you’ll be prepared for this important step in your journey of faith. For further information, or to request an application form, contact Paul Hill (cathedral.confirm@gmail.com) or Mary Manners (mary.manners@cliftondiocese.com).

The Confirmation Programme for 2019 will be issued in early 2019. It is likely to follow a similar schedule to the programme for 2018, which can be found below.
