Cephas Fund Caring for our Cathedral
We are proud and happy that our Cathedral is open every day to welcome our parishioners, local people and visitors from further afield to spend time in God's House. We do not receive any government or other support for our operational costs so our main source of income is the weekly offertory. As well as these ongoing, day to day, running expenses of a busy parish and a limited programme of minor maintenance works we need additional funding to carry out the more major repair work to the fabric of the Cathedral. With help from a substantial grant, the diocese and your generosity, we have recently completed a huge project to repair the roof. However, we are about to embark on the next major project to renew the electrics, upgrade the lighting and replace the heating system, all of which are necessary and urgent. Once these are completed there are a number of similarly urgent and important projects waiting their turn.
The Cephas Fund was established in 2016 to raise money which is specifically designated for the upkeep of the Cathedral building, We rely on donations to the Cephas Fund in order to maintain our architecturally significant building, to offer free entry and continue our work as a vaibrant parish within the dioces of Clifton.
Our Mother Church is God's House. Please help us to look after it well. Thank you.
There are a number of ways that you are able to care for our Cathedral contribute to the Cephas Fund:
Leaving a Legacy
What better legacy could you leave for future generations than a glimpse back into the past. The future is far too important to be left to chance. We all want to ensure that our family and loved ones will be well looked after when we are no longer there to help; that's why making a will is one of the most important jobs that we must do. A legacy to Clifton Cathedral, no matter how small, included in your will, is a way of helping to ensure that your children and your children's children will be able to enjoy a stunning architectural marvel for many generations to come. If you wish to leave an amount of money to the Clifton Cathedral Cephas Fund in your will we will be happy to hep you to arrange it. Please contact Mary Manners on 0117 9738411, firstname.lastname@example.org
Are you a UK Taxpayer? If yes, you can participate in GIFT AID. What does this mean? Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 25% from the HMRC, helping your donation go further.This means that £1 can be turned into £1.25 and £100 can be turned into £125, just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make, and it doesn't cost you a thing. When you visit Clifton Cathedral, please complete Gift Aid forms and hand them in at the office or simply complete one on line: Gift Aid (hyperlink to http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/charities/appendix_b1.pdform)
We would be very interested in talking to any company that would be interested in being involved in sponsoring the Clifton Cathedral Cephas Fund, either locally or nationally, big or small. This could take the form of financial support, equipment, materials, advertising and promotions or voluntary labour. To discuss the matter further please contact Mary Manners on 0117 9738411, email@example.com
Any donation, whatever size, large or small, will be gratefully received. You can make a donation by cheque (made payable to 'Clifton Cathedral Cephas Fund') and sending it for the attention of the Cathedral Adninistrator, Clifton Cathedral, Clifton Park, Bristol, BS8 3BX
Support Our Events
We have a diary of events throughout the year to offer opportunites to join socially with other parishioners as well as to raise money for the Cephas Fund. These include concerts, dinners, celebrations as well as special collections. We invite you to look out for these events and to support them generously.
And last but by no means least we ask for your prayers that we can be successful in our continuing appeal and preserve our wonderful building for the future generations who will use it.
God our Father, Divine Architect,
Creator of our Human Family;
